Double blow leaves Black-and-Whites blue

Hull FC have been dealt a double injury blow with the news Danny Tickle and Sam Moa will miss the remainder of the Super League campaign (Grand Final winner – Hull FC 66/1 with bet365).

The Black-and-Whites picked up an impressive 28-24 victory over Huddersfield Giants last time out but the win came at a cost as the two forwards suffered bicep injuries and the duo will be forced to undergo surgery, ruling them out for the rest of the season.

Hull FC coach Peter Gentle is now without 10 first-team players and on the lookout for potential replacements for the key pair.

“It’s obviously a huge blow to lose two more of your first-team squad for such a long period of time, particularly players like Sam and Ticks who are a key part of our team,” Gentle told the club’s official website.

“It definitely leaves us a little short, we’re not having the best run of luck with injuries at the moment but that is part of the game and we must roll our sleeves up and get on with it.

“We are keeping a close eye on the market at the moment, particularly with the current situation at other clubs and players that could become available.

“There are always deals and opportunities to be had out there, but we won’t be rushing into anything or signing players for the sake of it.”

Moa may now have played his last game for Hull FC, who travel to Leeds Rhinos on Friday night, as he is out of contract at the end of the season and has previously indicated he is looking to return to Australia (match betting with handicap – Leeds (-14.5) 10/11, Hull (+14.5) 10/11 with bet365).
