Boylesports

This imaginative bookmaker is making a name for itself outside of its native Ireland and offers good sign up bonuses to new customers. The website has been translated into three different languages (Spanish, German and Swedish), reflecting the growth of the company.

Boylesports does not have the international reputation of its compatriot Paddy Power and the site does have a smaller feel to it. However, the company is continuing to grow. In 2007, it became the official sponsor of Premier League outfit Sunderland while its betting presence in the UK has been enhanced by Carling Cup football coverage on Sky Sports. In 2009, Boylesports also sponsored the Premier League Darts.

Founded in 1989 by John Boyle, the company is massive in its native country and is the largest independent bookmakers in Ireland. As well as its online presence, it operates 140 shops, employs 800 people and has been the Official Online Betting Partner of the Football Association of Ireland since 2008, which incorporates the Irish football team and the League of Ireland.

Boylesports is also a significant sponsor of horse racing and has backed the Boylesports.com Novice Chase at the Punchestown Festival and the Boylesports.com International at Cheltenham, which is the second biggest hurdle race in the world. Boylesports is also a significant player in Irish greyhound sponsorship, backing the Dundalk International, Irish Champion Stakes at Shelbourne Park and the Coursing at Clonmel, Co Tipperary.

Like most bookies, Boylesports not only focuses on sport and also has a mobile presence. Poker, casino, lotteries, games of skill and other games feature heavily on the site, although the selection is more modest when compared to some other bookmakers.

The same is true regarding sports, with only a limited field available. However, all the major UK and Irish sports are covered. What Boylesports does cover, it covers well, with football being a particular strength. A wide variety of different ante-post and match betting exists, with many international leagues available for selection. European competitions are also not neglected. Horse Racing and Greyhounds are also covered well but some of the other sports are sparsely represented when it comes to the betting markets available.

There is a modest in-play betting facility which covers most of the sports Boylesports cover, although some of the events are of niche appeal. The company also offers a Soccer Stats service, as well as a Horse Form section, which enables customers to make more informed betting selections. There is live coverage of UK and Irish racing, and greyhounds, on Boylesports’ radio service whilst Football Live airs from 2pm to 5pm every Saturday and details previews, reports and live score updates from eight UK divisions and domestic cup competitions.

Like many bookmakers, Boylesports have also branched out into non-sports markets such as Big Brother whilst it is strong on sports betting and news content through its bettingnews.boylesports.com site.

Boylesports offer new customers a free £20/€20 bet when they bet the same amount.
